YWIB empowers today’s girls to become tomorrow’s leaders, helping them affect positive change through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Many members of the Biopolis team are young women scientists; therefore, Biopolis has partnered with YWIB to help advance their purpose.

UCSD Barrio Logan Science and Art Expo April 4th, 2020

We join YWIB to host two booths at the Expo, an inclusive and annual art, science, and culture fair that welcomes families from around southern San Diego. We prepared our "DNA Extraction on a Necklace" experiment and we are also helping to organize a biology-themed Fashion Show. Our goal is to use fashion as a gateway for girls to discover STEM.

Ambassador Program Ongoing Project 2020

We will be in the process of adapting Biopolis curriculum as the basis for YWIB Ambassador clubs, which aim to teach high school girls how to promote science in their communities. The clubs will be established nationwide in the near future.
